| This is what some of our customers of Motorola two-way radios say
about the benefits of their wireless communications systems:
A Chicagoland plastics manufacturer located in a northwestern
suburb.
We need, we want instant communications! The faster we are able
to communicate, the quicker our projects get done.
Our departmental users (material handling, maintenance, production
assembly, shipping and receiving) function more productively now
with two-way radios when plant personnel are some distance away
or are separated by walls.
A nationwide 3rd party maintenance organization recently relocated
to their new Chicago area depot center.
Our radios get double duty. We use them to trouble shoot our in-house
PC LAN system and to contact supervisory personnel who are frequently
away from their offices. We moved from a much smaller facility
to larger quarters with several offices and needed two-way wireless
communications for greater efficiency.
A regional warehouse of a major paper products manufacturer and
distributor near Chicago.
Before we installed radios our forklift drivers had to return
to their office for each additional project along with related
instructions. Our warehouse is over 250,000 square feet.
We used an overhead paging system but its limitations of both
surrounding noise and only one-way communication caused us to evaluate
the advantages of two-way radios.
The floor associates in distribution brought up the idea of using
two-way radios. Now the floor staff communicates more readily and,
in addition, we have a more interactive working environment, a
very positive intangible benefit.
We are now using a dozen radios at this facility and two of our
other distribution centers have recently installed similar radio
systems.
